<br />HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, APRIL 11, 1989 <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Oberdorfer at <br />7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />II. Old Business <br />A. Chairman Oberdorfer asked for an update on grievances. <br />Edythe Nackerud and Dave Bailey presented the status of <br />grievances they were handling. <br /> <br />B. Chairman Oberdorfer went through the new grievances and <br />assigned two new cases. <br /> <br />C. Elections for Chairman and Vice Chairman were held. <br />Bob King was voted in as Chairman. Vicky Wright was <br />voted in as Vice Chairman. <br /> <br />D. Good Citizenship Award <br />Stan Borden presented information on Rotary Club <br />sponsorship of this award. The Rotary has committed <br />$200 for this program. <br /> <br />The type of award was then discussed: <br /> <br />--Rotating plaque with all award recipients <br /> <br />--New plaque each year <br /> <br />It was mentioned that presentation of the award should <br />be in cooperation with the Rotary Club, and the ongoing <br />cost of the award should be funded from the Human Rights <br />Commission budget. <br /> <br />Discussion <br />eligible. <br />eligible. <br /> <br />then shifted to which businesses are <br />It was suggested that individuals not <br />More discussion followed. <br /> <br />be <br /> <br />Discussion then focused on nominations for the award. <br />Suggestions were: <br /> <br />- Employee nominate <br /> <br />- Work through various Merchants' Associations and the <br />Chamber <br /> <br />- Newspaper <br /> <br />- Personal contact <br /> <br />- Rotary <br /> <br />Some criteria for judging was: <br />- Roseville Business <br /> <br />- Have policies, practices, and actions which reflect <br />Human Rights Commission's goals/objectives. <br />
