HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, JANUARY 12, 1993 <br />I. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Commission Chair Deutsch at <br />7:10 p.m. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Members present: Thelma McKenzie, Mary Jean Turina <br />Anderson, Michael Trainor, Mary Helen <br />Deutsch, Kim Waite, Bob Bancroft, Stan <br />Borden, Dave Norrgard. <br />Excused absences: Linda Larmore, Jackie Kozak. <br />Unexcused absences: None. <br />Others present: Steve North, Staff Liaison; <br />Sarah Bellefuil, Intern; <br />Pat Johnson, City Council liaison; <br />Barb Mastel, 1993 Roseville Rosefest <br />Parade Chairperson. <br />III. Establishing Most Important Issues for 1993 <br />Steve North acted as facilitator for the meeting. He stated <br />that the goals of the meeting were to list issues the group <br />had dealt with effectively and less effectively in 1992. <br />After this, the group would determine issues that they wanted <br />to address in 1993. The most important issues would be used <br />by the Commission, to plan their projects and programs for <br />1993. <br />1992 Issues the Group Dealt with Effectively <br />1. Public Education <br />a) Essay contest <br />2. Expanding Visibility <br />a) Cable television programs <br />b) Multicultural event at Rosedale <br />3. Responsive to Needs/Public Relations <br />a) North Suburban Task Force, Shoreview Commission, <br />Roseville area churches, collaboration <br />4. Bias Crime Plan <br />5. Public Exposure <br />
