The August 13, 1996 meeting of Roseville's Human Rights Commission was not held
because a quorum was not present. The following members attended: Mike Trainor, Issac
Afwerke, Christine Malark, and Susan Forsyth.

Commission members discussed the following.

1. Commission Chair Trainor expressed disappointment in the current lack of direction
of the Commission and indicated he felt responsible as Chair. He requested that
elections for Commission officers be held before November of this year.

2. A request was made for information regarding the Commission to be placed on
Roseville's Home Page. This will be done, along with information about other
advisory commissions.

3. It was requested that the Commission minutes be provided to members earlier.

4. Discussed the possibility of reviewing the role and goals of the Commission.
Requested that Council Liaison Dean Maschka be invited to participate in that
discussion.

5. Publicize the Human Rights Commission Excellence Award in the October City
Newsletter. This will be done.

6. Margaret Murphy Maertz has notified the City that she is resigning from the
Commission and will send a letter. The City Council will initiate the application
process.

:::;~ Ii
