<br />HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, AUGUST 12,1997 <br /> <br />1. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Mike Trainor at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Roll Call <br />Members present: Issac Afwerke, Jill Bergquist, Janet Gordon, Janet <br />Henquinet, Michael Jordan, Mike Trainor <br /> <br />Members absent: Brenda Boily-Salmanpour, Susan Forsythe, Mike Hermes, <br />Thelma McKenzie <br /> <br />Others present: Debbie Zamow, Staff Liaison <br /> <br />3. Approval of Minutes <br />Jill Bergquist moved, Janet Henquinet seconded, that the minutes of the July 8, <br />1997 meeting be approved. <br /> <br />Roll Call, Ayes: All Present <br /> <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />4. Committee Reports <br />A. Bias/Hate Crimes - No report. <br /> <br />B. Cable TVNideo - Jill Bergquist and Thelma McKenzie have attended <br />Basic Studio Production and recommend that more Commissioners <br />attend. <br /> <br />C. Human Riqhts Excellence Award - No report. <br /> <br />5. Grievance Update <br />No report. <br /> <br />6. Other Business/Announcement <br />A. Annual League Meeting is to be held September 27. All interested <br />Commissioners are encouraged to attend. <br />B. City of Roseville Open House will be October 11. The Commission <br />agreed to have an information booth at City Hall. <br />C. Elections for Commission chair will be held during the October 14 <br />meeting. <br /> <br />7. Adjournment <br />Issac Afwerke moved, Jill Bergquist seconded that the meeting be adjourned at <br />7:45 p.m. <br /> <br />8. Next MeetinQ <br />The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 9, at 7:00 p.m. in <br />Roseville City Hall. <br />
