<br />HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION <br /> <br />The Tuesday, March 11, 1997, meeting of the Roseville Human Rights Commission was <br />not held because a quorum was not present. The following members attended: Issac <br />Afwerke, Jill Bergquist, Janet Henquinet, and Mike Trainor. <br /> <br />Commission members discussed the following: <br /> <br />1, Bias Hate Crimes <br />Mike is reviewing bias hate crime response policies from other communities to <br />determine if Roseville's should be updated, <br /> <br />2, Cable TV <br />No report. <br /> <br />3, Human Rights Excellence Award <br />Mike will prepare a letter to organizations such as Veterans groups, Rotary, <br />Chamber of Commerce, etc. requesting them to announce at their meetings and <br />through their newsletters the Human Rights Excellence Award, <br /> <br />4, Grievance Update <br />No report. <br /> <br />5. Other Business <br />Commission members discussed the possibility of cooperating jointly with other <br />North Suburban City Human Rights Commissions, One idea was to have a <br />quarterly joint meeting of the commissions, <br /> <br />It was suggested that after new Commission members are appointed by the City <br />Council, that the Commission consider having a planning session to establish goals, <br /> <br />6, Next Meeting <br />The next Commission meeting will be Tuesday, April 8, 1997, at 7:00 p,m, in <br />Roseville City Hall. <br />
