Signs are posted near the fishing pier regarding the policy of "Catch and <br />Release" at Bennett Lake. The Parks and Recreation Department agreed that signs <br />need to be posted near the pier that are translated into other languages and/or <br />include pictures of fish and their season for fishing, <br /> <br />Egli agreed to find contacts within the Southeast Asian community for translation. It <br />was discussed that the DNR may have resources and contact people for this type of <br />situation, <br /> <br />Conclusion <br />McKenzie agreed to update the community contacts on the Hate Crimes Response <br />Network for Parks and Recreation to use as a resource if other issues arise. Egli <br />expressed concern that the Human Rights Commission should also receive notice of <br />possible bias issues which are occurring in the community. Kurt offered to remind <br />City Department Heads that the Human Rights Commission should be made aware <br />of any bias related issues, The Commission would like to meet again with the Parks <br />and Recreation Commission after the signs have been posted to reassess these <br />situations. <br /> <br />4) Approval of Minutes <br />Boily-Salmanpour moved, Orosz seconded that the minutes from the March 9 <br />meeting be approved. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />5) Bias Complaint <br />As of the meeting date, neither complainant has returned an intake form, <br /> <br />6) Human Rights Essay Contest <br />The League of MN Human Rights Commissions will review the Commission's <br />recommendation for next year's question at their meeting of May 22. Contest <br />deadlines and award dates will be decided by the League, <br /> <br />6) Cable Program/Promotion <br />Filming at the Tri-District School has been completed, The tape highlights a <br />classroom and a teacher of multi-cultural studies. The second segment of the show <br />is scheduled to be a spotlight on the Ethnic Alliance at Roseville Area High School. <br />Houser will be responsible for taping this segment during the school day to ensure <br />that all individuals can be interviewed easily. <br />
