<br />Memo <br /> <br />To: Human Rights Commissioners <br /> <br />From: Debbie Zamow <br /> <br />Re: January 11, 2000 Meeting Summary <br /> <br />Date: January 14, 2000 <br /> <br />The Tuesday, January II, 2000 meeting of the Roseville Human Rights Commission was not <br />held because a quorum was not present. The following members attended: Issac Afwerke, Mike <br />Hermes, Thelma McKenzie, and Alexis Orosz. Steve Smith arrived as the assembly adjourned. <br />One visitor, Bridget Davitt, also attended. <br /> <br />Commission members discussed the following: <br /> <br />1. Letter of January 11, 2000 from Jill Bergquist <br />Although Bergquist was unable to attend this meeting, she made a report by memo to the <br />Commission. (See enclosed.) In her report she assigned Commissioners to various sub- <br />committees and gave updates on a few outstanding projects. <br /> <br />2. Bias Complaint <br />The Community Alert leafleting campaign has been postponed until the Police Department is <br />able to do more investigating. Bergquist will be in touch with the Police Department and <br />expects leafleting to begin around January 18. The sub-committee for the leafleting <br />~ampaign is Eric Egli, Alexis Orosz and Steve Smith. <br /> <br />3. Bias/Hate Crime Response Update <br />The Bias/Hate Crime Response document is desperately out-of-date. Sub-committee <br />members are asked to call the contact listed in the document to verify their involvement with <br />the Commission. This sub-committee was reorganized to include Issac Afwerke, Brenda <br />Boily-Salmanpour and Susan Oliphant. <br /> <br />4. Publicity/Cable TV Sub-Committee <br />This sub-committee was reorganized to include Jill Bergquist, Mike Hermes and Mary Vidas. <br /> <br />5. Community Circles Program <br />The registration form for the program is to be completed by Zamow. The program is planned <br />to start in late April or early May. <br />
