McKenzie reminded the Commission that Ms. Eager had visited the Commission in
October 2002 soon after she began working for the School District.

Eager said she has been having widespread acceptance for the diversity plan. Teaching staff are
interested in learning how to teach better.

Eager thanked Commissioner Karen Vnuk for her participation in developing the Equity and
Integration Plan (EIP). Roseville is one of the few suburban school districts with diversity goals.
The goals are:

. Staff Development
. Staff Diversity/Student Diversity
. Expand Existing Programs
. Reduce Barriers
. Communication

The EIP Committee identified eight action plans to achieve these goals. Eager highlighted some of
the steps. Principals at each of the nine district schools identified a teacher to be an equity and
integration coordinator. That person will receive professional development and will serve as a link
between other teachers, the principal and the Diversity Coordinator. RAS will look at recmiting
efforts to hire a more diverse teaching and professional staff.
