Mark Taylor gave a powerful recitation of Dr. King's I Have a Dream
speech. Commissioners agreed the library was a good location, but parking was a problem so if
the Commission plans future events at the library, we'll have to consider parking alternatives.
Carolyn Curti said that CTV taped the event and produced a video that will air on CTV and
Channel 16. The 20 minute video is available to lend out to local schools, churches or business.
Commissioner LeMay will work with Roseville Area High School teachers to see about showing
it in the classroom. Commissioners circulated a thank you letter for Mr. Taylor.

Appoiut Subcommittees

Chair McKenzie acknowledged that several emails and conversations had gone around in the
past months, which prevented the Commission from working effectively. She said that she had
decided to create two subcommittees to address issues that Commissioner Janet Delmore had
raised. One subcommittee would review the complaint against the Roseville Police and the other
would review the process the Commission uses when a hate or bias crime has been reported in
the City.

Chair McKenzie appointed Mark Chapin and Steve Smith to review the complaint against the
Roseville Police and she appointed Larry Voeller and Steve Zorn to review the hate and bias
crime.

Chair McKenzie introduced Mark Sarenpa, the attorney who worked with Commissioner
Delmore and the father whose son was stopped by the police. Commissioner Delmore then read
an outline of her experiences with the Police and passed the information on to the subcommittee
members.

I
