<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />December 14, 2004 <br /> <br />Present: Thelma McKenzie, Chair; Phillip Crump, Janet Delmore, Steve Smith, Karen Vnuk, <br />Larry Voeller, Howard Wagner <br />Staff: Carolyn Curti <br /> <br />Chair Thelma McKenzie called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Roseville City <br />Council Chambers. <br /> <br />Approve Minutes <br /> <br />Commissioner Phil Crump moved and Commissioner Howard Wagner seconded approval of <br />the October minutes. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Essay Contest <br /> <br />Carolyn Curti distributed the top 33 essays and asked Commissioners to read and grade them <br />and send her the scores by January 7. She will compile the scores by the January 11 meeting. <br />Commissioners will review the top three essays and determine the number of honorable <br />mentions to give. Each essay was assigned a number and all identifying information was <br />removed from all essays. Commissioners would then be given the names of the winners. <br />Commissioners agreed to present the winners to the City Council at the February 28 meeting. <br /> <br />Senior Holiday Party <br /> <br />Commissioner Wagner reported that he attended the December 1 Senior Holiday Party. <br />Carolyn Curti also attended the first portion and Commissioner Steve Smith attended the last <br />portion. He said it was well attended, probably more than 60 senior citizens. Commissioner <br />Wagner raised the question about the poor participation rate by other Commissioners. <br />Commissioners stated their interest in the continuing this effort in future years. <br /> <br />2005 Meeting Calendar <br /> <br />Commissioners reviewed the proposed schedule of meetings. Commissioners agreed to <br />change the September and November meetings to the third Tuesday of the month because of <br />elections on the second Tuesday of September and November. <br /> <br />1 <br />
