<br />. <br /> <br />. Regions Hospital, a trauma center, is in St. Paul, on East University Avenue, just east <br />ofthe Capital complex, easily reached via 1-35E. <br />. St. John's Hospital is east ofRoseville, in Maplewood, about a mile north of <br />Highway 36, on Beam Avenue, about a half mile east of Highway 61. <br />. St, Joseph's Hospital is in St. Paul, on Exchange Street, south on Rice Street, across <br />1-94 from the Capital complex. <br />. United Hospital is in St. Paul, west of the central city, on Smith Avenue, between <br />Fort Road (7th Street) and 1-35E <br /> <br />Shopping <br /> <br />The two major shopping areas are Rosedale and Har Mar Mall. Numerous strip malls are located <br />around the City plus other shopping areas are close to the Roseville city limits. Maplewood Mall <br />is to the east and the Quarry Mall is west ofthe City on Old Highway 8. No major home <br />remodeling stores are located in Roseville, but Home Depot and Menards are nearby. <br /> <br />The main shopping areas in Minneapolis and St. Paul are in their downtown areas. The Mall of <br />America, with about 400 stores, is in Bloomington. You can Park and Ride at Rosedale and hop <br />on a Metro Transit bus that takes you to Minneapolis, St. Paul and the Mall of America. <br /> <br />The major food stores in Roseville are listed on the back ofthe City map. Two organic food <br />markets are nearby. Fresh and Natural Foods is located at the intersection of Highway 96 and <br />. Lexington Avenue and Whole Food is located on south Fairview Avenue in St. Paul. <br /> <br />Recreation <br /> <br />Personal recreation opportunities abound in Roseville. The City has 28 parks within its limits. <br />Many parks offer picnic areas, playground equipment, walking trails, tennis and basketball <br />facilities and other amenities. In the winter, several parks have ice skating rinks. Call the Parks <br />and Recreation Department at 651-792-7006 for more details. The Roseville Skating Center is <br />next to City Hall. It includes the outdoor skating rink, called the OVAL, and the enclosed Ice <br />Arena is a skating and hockey facility where the Roseville Raiders play. The Ice Arena has a <br />"cool" walking track that is open to the public. During the summer, the OVAL is used for roller <br />blades, skateboarding and biking. Olympic Skating Teams often practice or compete there. <br /> <br />Many City street lanes are marked for bikes and walkers. During the winter, many people walk <br />at the local enclosed malls. Several health clubs are in the area, but not within the City limits. In <br />Roseville, boating is restricted to Lake Owasso, Lake Josephine and Lake McCarron. However, <br />numerous larger lakes are within a short drive. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Indoor swimming is available at the Fairview Community Center. Outdoor swimming is <br />restricted to Lake Josephine. Other lake swimming is at Lake Owasso (beach is not in <br />Roseville), Lake Johanna, Island Lake, Phalen Lake, Keller Lake and Gervais Lake. Roseville <br />offers wonderful cross country ski trails but no downhill skiing. However, Como Park in St. <br />Paul has a short downhill ski hill. <br />
