<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Commissioners then discussed ways to do outreach to the community. Commissioners suggested <br />working with theater groups in the schools or the Rosetown Playhouse, creating a liaison with <br />the schools or realtors, acting as mediators, conduct training and other outreach efforts. <br /> <br />Commissioners discussed some of their concerns - reaching people of color, working on housing <br />issues, including educating landlords and renters on housing discrimination, and creating an <br />inclusive community for gay, lesbian and transgender residents. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing thanked the Commissioners for their commitment to improving the City of <br />Roseville. He talked about the importance of the Essay Contest as a tool to reach parents and <br />students. <br /> <br />Other <br /> <br />Chair Delmore reminded Commissioners that Bill Finney was going to speak with students at <br />RAHS on May 18. <br /> <br />Commissioners discussed the importance of individuals participating in neighborhood block <br />parties, National Night Out and Family Night Out. These block parties are an opportunity to <br />meet neighbors and to make everyone feel good about living in Roseville. <br /> <br />Chair Delmore showed a collection of books, dolls and artwork which she received from the <br />Hmong community. She suggested displaying these works in City Hall during each <br />commemorative month. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 8:10. <br /> <br />2 <br />
