Annual Composition Study
Eureka Recycling conducted an annual COll1position study of materials fr0111 Janu;:ny 2 to
March 10, 2006. The composition of the l1uterials streanl, deternlined liOln a 10-\veek
study, is that papers make up 75.4% and containers make up 24.6% of the total weight of
all the tons collected in Roseville.

Percentage Percentage of
Papers of Total Containers Total Tonnage
Tonnage
News Mix 63.98% Total Glass 14.89%
Cardboard 6.71% Amber Glass 2.01%
Boxboard 2.37% Flint Glass 3.32%
Wet Strength 0.36% Green Glass 2.74%
Phone Books 1.33% Mix Glass 6.82%
Textiles 0.40% Steel Cans 2.64%
Residual 0.24% Aluminum Cans 1.48%
TOTAL 75.4% Total Plastics 4.70%
PET 2.34%
HDPE-NAT 1.11%
HDPE-COL 1.25%
Residual 0.89%
TOTAL 24.6%

Revenue Share Summary
The market values for the recyclable materials collected in Roseville in 2006 were
excellent. lZapid economic growth around the world has created great dCl11and for the
natural resources used in manufacturing and devclopnlcnt. Specifically, deuland froll1
China and India has led to very strong markets for both paper and metals. In addition, the
high costs of oil and natural gas have nude the energy savings achieved through the use of
recycled content even more cost effective, raising the value of recyclable c0I11nlodities
across the board. In the '1\vin Cities nlarketplace, the one c0111DIOdity that has proven
Illost difficult has been glass due to the local market conditions changing dranutically at
Anchor Glass. In 2007, we will be implenlenting changes in our processing systenl to
address this problenl and make every effort to ensure that glass bottles continue to be
recycled back into bottles.

795.08
876.04
835.31
934.78
3,441.21

$21,165.32
$23,403.59
$19,483.86
$22,661.14
$86,713.91

Revenue/Ton
$26.62
$26.72
$23.33
$24.24
$2:>.20

1st uarter
2nd Quarter
3rd Quarter
4th Quarter
Total
