<br />EXTRACT OF rUNUTES OF MEETING OF TIIE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />OF ROSEVILLE, :-UNNESOTA, HELD NOVEMJ3I2R 28, 1966 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting <br />of the Village Council of Roseville, Minnesota was duly called and <br />held at the Village Hall in said Village on the 28th day of November, 1966 <br />at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: <br />r-1ayor Cedarholm, Trustees Curley, Goodrich, Grauel and Shields <br /> <br />and the following were absent: None <br /> <br />Member Curley <br />moved its adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following Resolution and <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1688 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the pedestrian traffic generated on Lexinf1ton Avenue <br />in the vicinity of Ramsey County's Lake ,Josephine Beach just south <br />of County Road D has increased each succeeding year since the <br />Beach's opening in 1963, to the point where a major traffic safety <br />hazard exists; <br /> <br />AND lVHEREAS, it is the judgment of the Public I'Jorks Director <br />and Police Chief of the Village of Roseville that unless the handling <br />of vehicular and pedistrian traffic is modified on this section of <br />Lexington Avenue before the 1967 swimminp; season a fatality or <br />crippling injury will occur; <br /> <br />NOH, THEREFORE J BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILL.t\GE COUNCIL OF <br />ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1. The Minnesota Highway Department and the Ramsey County <br />Board of Commissioners bearing responsibility for public safety on <br />Lexinf~ton Avenue and the Josephine Reach area respectively are <br />requested to take immediate action to modify speed limits, regulate <br />parking and provide for safe pedestrian crossing of the roadway. <br /> <br />2. The Village Manager is hereby directed to send a certified <br />copy of this resolution to the Commission of Highways, t'i1innesota <br />Highway Department, and the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was <br />duly seconded by j\1ember Goodrich and upon a vote being held thereon, <br />the following voted in favor thereof: All present <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: None <br />
