e~la~ ~ ®lI~1Cll eetl <br />1Vlouay, August 06, 2007 <br />Page 25 <br />their rankings of the three proposals to allow Councilmembers to have <br />a basis for their questions of the firms at the August 27, 2007 meeting; <br />and the need to provide something for public consumption in under- <br />standing the complexity of the Comprehensive Plan Update process <br />and proposed scope of services of the three firms. <br />Councilmember Ihlan amended, Kough seconded the aYnendment of <br />the original motion that the City Council serve as the Selection Com- <br />mittee to select a Comprehensive Plan ~Jpdate consultant; that staff <br />develop a matrix to be provided to the Council before their August 20, <br />2007 meeting; and that the City Council would make a final decision <br />at their August 27, 2007 meeting. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Ihlan; Pust; Kough; Roe; and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />Discussion proceeded to a joint meeting of the Planning Commission <br />and City Council at their August 20, 2007 Study Session. <br />Councilmember Ihlan spoke in support of the joint meeting; however, <br />opined that she preferred that the Steering Committee appointment be <br />held until after that meeting. <br />Mr. Darrow strongly encouraged the City Council to adhere to the <br />proposed kick-off meeting planned for September 13, 2007, if it was <br />determined that a Steering Committee be appointed, as a critical step <br />in the process. <br />Mayor Klausing spoke in support of the joint meeting; and in making <br />a determination to begin the process of appointing a steering commit- <br />tee. <br />Klausing moved, Roe seconded, scheduling a Joint Planning Commis- <br />sion/City Council meeting at the August 20, 2007 City Council Study <br />Session to discuss the decision-ranking matrix to be prepared by staff. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Ihlan; Pust; Kough; Roe; and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />
