Chief Gasaway advised that this pro- <br />vided immediate and automatic staff and equipment (one unit) re- <br />sponses to structure fires, thereby improving efficiencies of each de- <br />partment, as well as contributing more favorably to the staff compo- <br />nent scoring of the Insurance Services Office (ISO) evaluation and <br />subsequent rating of the City's fire protection. Chief Gasaway de- <br />tailed this "frontloading" of staffing and benefits beyond that realized <br />through Mutual Aid Agreements with other departments, and in meet- <br />ing the challenges of all Fire Departments with daytime staffing is- <br />sues, estimating that this involved an average of 12 - 15 structure fires <br />annually, with a net increase of 4-5 additional calls for the Roseville <br />Department above and beyond Mutual Aid responses. <br />Kough moved, Ihlan seconded approving the Reciprocal Emergency <br />Services Agreement between the City of Roseville Fire Department <br />and the Lake Johanna Fire Department, Inc. for the purpose of provid- <br />ing automatic aid to reported structure fires. <br />Councilmember Pust requested that the department's periodic reports <br />to the City Council include cumulative and segregated data related to <br />this reciprocal emergency services agreement; location of calls (Lake <br />Johanna service area includes Arden Hills, Shoreview and North <br />Oaks); and benefits for staff supplementation during daytime staffng <br />hours. <br />®1 Call <br />Ayes: Pust; Roe; Ihlan; Kough; and Klausing. <br />Days: None. <br />®11 Call <br />Ayes: Pust; Roe; Ihlan; Kough; and Klausing. <br />1®Tays: None. <br />
