CITY F SEVILLE <br />OFFICIAL SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE A11~ZENDING TITLE ~, SECTI N 301.01, LICENSE AN PE T FEES; <br />AN A ENDING VA IOUS SECTIONS I~, TITLE 5, <br />C ATE 501: ANIMAL CONTROL <br />The City Council of the City of oseville adopted Ordinance 110. on , 20Q7, <br />which. is summarized as follows: <br />An Animal Control Ordinance for the purpose of encouraging sterilization of domestic animals and <br />compliance with the City's licensing requirements, and establishing fees, including the following: <br />1. Adds definitions of "electronically tagged animal" end "altered animal" to the Code. <br />2. Identifies violations of the ordinance to be an administrative offense for which <br />administrative penalties may be imposed, in order to further encourage compliance and <br />help to cover City costs associated with enforcement. <br />3. Deletes outdated reference to animals in hotels. <br />4. Allows the City to designate other entities to issue licenses, in order to allow the City to <br />work with local veterinarians to incorporate this function into "well animal" checks. <br />5. Refines and consolidates the requirements for the various types of licenses. <br />6. Makes certain necessary exemptions to licensing for temporary visitors to the city. <br />7. Requires owners to keep their address current with the City to facilitate the return of stray <br />animals. <br />8. Requires humane treatment and the provision of f ood and water during impoundment. <br />9. References state law regarding the operation of impounding facilities, and required time <br />periods for impoundment of stray animals. <br />
