Mr. Scl~warCz updated fihe commission an tlze latest developments. There <br />has been some interest in different development proposals. Comtni~sion <br />members were asked for their input on design principles. <br />Member Vanderwall said the design plan looked li~e it be~onged in a more <br />urbar~ area and that he hoped sidewalks and bike paths wouId be inciuded <br />in the design. Chair DeBenec~et agreed that sidewalk~ and bilce paths <br />should be included. <br />Member Var~derwall said as far as parking goes he thinks only flat parking <br />would work in Roseville. Meml~er Willenbring ~aid that slant parking <br />might rnean a parking ramp could be avoided. <br />Member Vanderwall said he ciic~n't see anything regarding technology tl~at <br />would be available for the development. Chair DeBenedet said that <br />maybe a sparc conduit needed ta be added into the design to avoid I~aving <br />to rip up pavement in the future when someone needed dif~erent lines to <br />their bui~ding. Mr. Schwartz said that a plan for utility canduits had been <br />discussed with the previous developer. <br />Mr. Schwartz said that Metra Transit has voiced interest in having a park <br />and rfde facility at Twin La~es. Member Va~derwall said a system should <br />be buil~ to use the Raseville Circulator buses to bring people to the transit <br />hub and then on ta ather buses rather than buiIding a big parking lot. <br />Member Vanderwall moved to recomrnend additions to the design <br />document as follows: <br />1. Under~rounding utilikies where feasible <br />2. Conduits ~or communications and technologies for fut~re use <br />3. Enhanced transit facilities and opportunities <br />4. Pari~ing in 10 ~e~icle units between islands <br />5.
