Call Roll <br />Mayor Klausing called to order the Roseville City Council regular meeting at appiroxi- <br />mately 6:00 p.m. and welcomed everyone. <br />(Voting and Seating Order for January: Pust; Roe; Il~lan and Klausing) <br />Mayor Klausing advised that Councilmember Kough would be unavailable for tonight's <br />meeting. <br />City Attorney Scott Anderson was also present. <br />2. Approve Agenda <br />Councilor..ember Ihlan requested removal from the Conseni Agenda of Items 7.b and 7.e, <br />respectively entitled, "Approve General Purchases and Sale of Surplus Items exceeding <br />$5,000;" and "Appoint Advisory Commissioners and Authorize Staff to Advertise for <br />Commission Vacancies." <br />The agenda was approved by consensus, as amended. <br />3. Public Comment <br />Mayor Klausing called for public comment by members of the audience on any non <br />agenda items. No one appeared to speak. <br />4. Council Communications, Reports and Announcements <br />A bench handout was provided, House File No. 2572, related to funding appropriations <br />for the Guidant John Rose Minnesota Oval. <br />5. Recognitions, Donations, Communications <br />a. Accept and Recognize a Donation from North Suburban St. Paul Kiwanis <br />Club and Central Park Foundation for a Pergola at the Muriel Sahlin Arbo- <br />retum <br />Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Jill Anfang advised that the North Subur- <br />ban St. Paul Kiwanis Club, in cooperation with the Roseville Central Park Foun- <br />dation, was proposing a shade pergola (wood arbor) in the Muriel Sahlin Arbore- <br />tum at an anticipated cost of $29,000, including installation, consistent with the <br />2002 Arboretum Master Plan. Ms. Anfang advised that the pergola is proposed to <br />be located directly south of the existing FORPARKS water fountain in the theme <br />garden area, and was supported by staff, the Roseville Central Park Foundation, <br />and the Roseville Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />
