Call Roll Mayor Klausing called to order the Roseville City Council regular meeting at appiroxi- mately 6:00 p.m. and welcomed everyone. (Voting and Seating Order for January: Pust; Roe; Il~lan and Klausing) Mayor Klausing advised that Councilmember Kough would be unavailable for tonight's meeting. City Attorney Scott Anderson was also present. 2. Approve Agenda Councilor..ember Ihlan requested removal from the Conseni Agenda of Items 7.b and 7.e, respectively entitled, "Approve General Purchases and Sale of Surplus Items exceeding $5,000;" and "Appoint Advisory Commissioners and Authorize Staff to Advertise for Commission Vacancies." The agenda was approved by consensus, as amended. 3. Public Comment Mayor Klausing called for public comment by members of the audience on any non agenda items. No one appeared to speak. 4. Council Communications, Reports and Announcements A bench handout was provided, House File No. 2572, related to funding appropriations for the Guidant John Rose Minnesota Oval. 5. Recognitions, Donations, Communications a. Accept and Recognize a Donation from North Suburban St. Paul Kiwanis Club and Central Park Foundation for a Pergola at the Muriel Sahlin Arbo- retum Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Jill Anfang advised that the North Subur- ban St. Paul Kiwanis Club, in cooperation with the Roseville Central Park Foun- dation, was proposing a shade pergola (wood arbor) in the Muriel Sahlin Arbore- tum at an anticipated cost of $29,000, including installation, consistent with the 2002 Arboretum Master Plan. Ms. Anfang advised that the pergola is proposed to be located directly south of the existing FORPARKS water fountain in the theme garden area, and was supported by staff, the Roseville Central Park Foundation, and the Roseville Parks and Recreation Commission.
