1 � <br />Request for Council Action <br />Date: January 10, 2000 <br />Item Number: E-3 <br />Department Approval Manager Approval Agenda Section <br />Organizational Business <br />Item Description: <br />Designate 2000 Legal Newspaper <br />Background <br />Minnesota statutes require the City Council to annually designate a legal newspaper for publication of <br />ordinances and other notices. The 1997 Legislature approved legislation permitting Roseville to designate a <br />legal newspaper based on the cost of publishing public notices if, for one year prior to designation, at least <br />25 % of the newspaper circulation has been within the Roseville city limits. The Focus and Review have a <br />circulation- of at least 25 % in Roseville and were sent letters requesting the following information: <br />. Cost of one time publication of four samples of past notices <br />. Number of newspapers distributed in Roseville <br />. Percentage of circulation in 1999 within Roseville city limits <br />. Number of times distributed per week <br />.
