Proclamation of August 5 as 2008 National Night Out <br />Police Chief Carol Sletner introduced Police Department Community <br />Relations Coordinator Sarah Mahmud, who in turn announced the 25~' <br />Annual Night Out, noting the City of Roseville's 16 years of partici- <br />pation and numerous national awards for community-involvement ef- <br />forts. Ms. Mahmud anticipated at least 65 areas participating; and ad- <br />vised that the event would have its official kick off the prior evening, <br />August 4~', at Central Park as a thank you to the community for their <br />partnership. Ms. Mahmud noted how refreshing it .was to work in the <br />City of Roseville, acknowledging that she heard more compliments <br />than complaints; and expressed her appreciation to the ongoing col- <br />laborative efforts of volunteers, members of the Roseville community; <br />and City staff from all departments in making events such as National <br />Night Out possible. <br />Pust moved, Roe seconded, approval authorizing the Mayor and City <br />• Manager to sign the 2008 National Night Out proclamation, declaring <br />August 5, 2008 at National Night Out in Roseville. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Willmus; Pust; Roe and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />6.
