EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of <br />Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 22nd day of September, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. <br />The following members were present: Roe, Ihlan, Willmus, Pust and Klausing <br />and the following were absent: none. <br />Member Pust introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION No. 10658 <br />Encouraging Ramsey County to Keep Roseville Library Open During Reconstruction <br />WHEREAS, The Roseville Library is an irreplaceable community resource; and <br />WHEREAS, It houses more than 325,000 items, approximately 38% of the library system's collection; and <br />WHEREAS, The Roseville Library annually circulates 1.7 million items -- more items than any other library in <br />Minnesota; and <br />WHEREAS, The diversity of its collection attracts visitors from throughout the metropolitan area; and <br />WHEREAS, An average of 338 people per hours enter the library; and <br />WHEREAS, The Roseville Library is a gathering place for the community with nearly 2,000 people visit the <br />Library every day, making use of its vast collection and other amenities including 40 public Internet computers; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, The Library hosts more than 700 community meetings a year, and each week more than 150 <br />children and parents attend the Roseville Library story time. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Roseville City Council encourages the Ramsey County Board <br />of Commissioners to keep an interim Roseville Library [in Roseville] in some capacity for the <br />community during reconstruction. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Ihlan, and upon a vote being <br />taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Roe, Ihlan, Willmus, Pust and Klausing <br />and the following voted against the same: none <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted <br />
