Regular City Council Meeting Monday, September 15, 2008 Page 28 Councilmembers concurred that another attempt be made to interview candidates not already interviewed (White, Lee, and Furhmann); directing staff to attempt scheduling those interviews for September 22, 2008. c. Discuss City Manager Evaluation Process Councilmember Pust opined that there should be an evaluation process; and opined that she and Councilmember Roe, current City Council subcommittee re- view members, were supportive of other Councilmembers serving in this capacity, and expressed their willingness to step aside. Councilmembers Pust and Roe advised that they had developed a template for last years review, and that they would make that template available, and that it should require minor revisions for future use, and to reduce time commitments required for a new subcommittee. Discussion included amount of time to collate andJor administer related docu- ments through the process; distribution to Department Heads and others involved in the evaluation process; whether the list of recipients needed to be expanded, since a full 360 degree evaluation had not been performed during the initial evaluation; and confidentiality considerations in using an e-mail distribution with- out some revisions in that system. Councilmember Willmus opined that the evaluation should be performed by an elected member of the City Council, rather than his participation as an appointed member of the City Council. Mayor Klausing volunteered to further discuss the process with City Manager Malinen and Councilmembers Roe and Pust and provide the full City Council with suggestions on how best to proceed at a future meeting. 14. City Manager Future Agenda Review City Manager Malinen highlighted agenda items for upcoming meetings. 15. Councilmember-Initiated Items for Future Meetings None. 16.
