Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee
September 11, 2008
Page 4
pleased with the tightening of restrictions on retail and commercial building and the
enhanced emphasis on the needs and wishes of citizens. Unfortunately however, there
now appears to be an attempt to once again subvert the strong and stated wishes of the
residents at the last minute. By eliminating both master plans and the 100,000 square
foot limitation on Community Business footprints making the Comprehensive Plan
a meaningless document ripe for ruthless development and corruption within city
government.
I would like to advocate for a strong Comprehensive Plan that limits additional retail,
lists Target and Har-Mar as Community Businesses with the 100,000 sf limitation, and
includes Master Plans that are developed with genuine and measurable community
support. I would like to have a Comprehensive Plan that sets out clear definitions
regarding land use, respects the goals and aspirations of the citizens of Roseville, and
advocates and defines a meaningful process for ongoing community involvement and
support in the planning process.
