<br /> <br />Planning Commission Board Meeting <br />City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Minutes - Wednesday, September 03, 2008 <br />1. Call to Order <br />Chair Bakeman called to order the Planning Commission meeting at 6:38 p.m. and <br />reviewed the role and purpose of the Planning Commission. <br />2. Roll Call & Introductions <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. <br />Members Present: Commissioners Barbara Martinson; Andre Best; Thomas Gottfried; <br />Daniel Boerigter; Jim Doherty; Joe Wozniak; and Chair Mary Bakeman. <br />Staff present: City Planner Thomas Paschke; Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd; and <br />Economic Development Associate Jamie Radel. <br />3. Review of Minutes <br />MOTION <br />Member Gottfried moved, seconded by Member Martinson to approve meeting <br />minutes of August 06, 2008 as presented. <br />Ayes: 7 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Motion carried. <br />4. Communications and Recognitions: <br />a. From the Public (Public Comment on items not on the agenda): <br />No one from the public appeared. <br />b. From the Commission or Staff: <br />Chair Bakeman noted that there was one (1) more scheduledd meeting of the <br />Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee on September 11, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. in <br />the Public Works Building Conference Room; and invited public comment at the <br />meeting. <br />Commissioner Gottfried asked staff, for the record, for clarification on how <br />recipients, including the Planning Commission, were determined for informational <br />open houses of various developers for pending projects. <br />City Planner Paschke advised that recent City ordinance amendment required <br />that the Planning Commission receive notice of public hearings for specific land <br />use applications, with notices being provided for City Councilmembers, Planning <br />Commissioners and property owners within five hundred feet (500’). Mr. Paschke <br />advised that Commissioners were welcome to attend, but that the purpose of the <br />flyer was to keep the Planning Commission informed of enhanced communication <br />efforts of developers with residents in the community. Mr. Paschke advised that <br />the applicant was responsible for the notice; with staff providing property owner <br />names and addresses, based on the most current data available from the Ramsey <br />County Property Records Department. <br /> <br />
