Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, November 17, 2008 <br />Page 23 <br />City Manager Malinen apologized that a previous request of Council- <br />member Willmus had inadvertently been deleted from the budget discus- <br />sion; and as a bench handout, provided a history of City Council Compen- <br />sation for future discussion purposes. <br />Councilmember Pust concurred that it would irresponsible of the City <br />Council not to discuss that when discussing potential employee issues. <br />Further discussion included decertification of TIF Districts (i.e., District <br />#1) and timing of such decertification, with staff requested to provide the <br />City Council with additional information. <br />City Manager Malinen confirmed that staff would return to the City Coun- <br />cil after incorporating those actions taken tonight, and factoring in addi- <br />tional discussion and information requests. <br />Councilmember Roe emphasized that discussion related to staff and per- <br />sonnel costs were not a reflection on the job performance of current staff; <br />opining that they were doing an excellent job from management on down; <br />and expressed his support of and respect for City staff. <br />14. Councilmember-Initiated Items for Future Meetings <br />Councilmember Ihlan, related to utility rate calculations, reiterated her concern about cal- <br />culations for single-family homes with higher consumption; and asked staff to provide <br />additional information based on their current rates and comparisons to proposed rates, us- <br />ing several comparative benchmarks (i.e., 30,000 gallons; 35,000 gallons, etc.), using the <br />same table in staff s report, and specifically those above the conservation rate shown. <br />16.
