EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br />of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 1st day of December, <br />2008, at 6:00 p.m. <br />The following members were present: Ihlan, Willmus, Pust, Roe and Klausing <br />and the following were absent: none. <br />Member Roe introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION No. 10671 <br />Authorizing Application of <br />Active Living Ramsey County 1,000 Benches Program Grant <br />for Langton Lake Pathway to Health <br />WHEREAS, Active Living Ramsey County (ALRC) is a partnership dedicated to <br />creating and promoting environments that make it safe and convenient for people to <br />integrate physical activity into their daily routine; and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County has created the 1,000 Benches Program as part of <br />ALRC, that seeks to install pathways to health, which are networks of benches that link <br />local destinations, and which are geared to people that are not typically very active ;and <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners has approved funding <br />for the 1,000 Benches Program, and has funds available through a grant process to match <br />the cost of local pathways up to $600 per installed bench; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville desires to implement a pathway to health; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has secured funding commitments from the <br />City of Roseville Park Improvement (PIP) budget to pay for the local match for a bench <br />project. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City of Roseville hereby approves <br />and authorizes submission of an application for the 1,000 Benches Program, attached <br />hereto. <br />
