REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br />Department Approval: <br />�� <br />Item Description: Annual Variance Soard Appointments <br />1.O BACKGROUND: <br />DATE: 4/13/2009 <br />ITEM NO. 7.f <br />Acting City Manager Approval: <br />�� � <br />1.1 Pursuant to Chapter 1014.04 (Soard of Zoning Adjustments and Appeals) of the <br />Roseville City Code, the City Council annually nominates three members of the <br />Planning Commission to serve as the Roseville Variance Soard. While <br />"nominates" typically means "selects," experience has shown that the more <br />practical course is for Planning Commissioners to volunteer if they are willing <br />and available to serve on the Variance Soard, and for the City Council to ratify <br />the self-selected Commissioners. <br />1.2 On April 1, 2009, Planning Commissioners Andre Sest (in absentia) , Daniel <br />Soerigter, and John Gisselquist each volunteered to serve as a regular member of <br />the Variance Soard, and Commissioner Thomas Gottfried volunteered to be the <br />alternate member. <br />2.O STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Planning Division staff recommends that the Roseville City Council ratify Planning <br />Commissioners Sest, Soerigter, Gisselquist, and Gottfried as the Variance Soard serving <br />from May 6, 2009 to April 7, 2010. <br />3.O SUGGESTED CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br />Sy motion, ratify the selection of Roseville Planning Commissioners Andre Sest, Daniel <br />Soerigter, John Gisselquist, and Thomas Gottfried as the Variance Soard members <br />appointed to serve as the Soard of Zoning Adjustments and Appeals from May 6, 2009 to <br />April 7, 2010. <br />Prepared by: Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd <br />VB_Appointments_RCA_041309 (3).doc <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
