Ron and Gail Brand were also in attendance. After significant
debate, a vote was held in which only six members of the Association voted to support the
original 1 /47~I' split for special assessments. The vote taken did not follow customary procedure
but rather was aimed at producing consensus for language that would be included i.r, the ne«~
governing documents for the formula used to determine a unit owner's share of any special
assessment that might be levied.
As before; the meeting minutes are less than accurate. For the record, 1 presented compelling
eve ence t at a ormu a ase upon t e a ove grade square footage of each unit would produce
the best formula as it would be easy to calculate and easy to apply. Moreover, it would be fair.
No mention of my presentation or the resulting discussion between myself and various
association members-which encompassed over three-fourths the time of the meeting-is made
in the minutes.
Pursuant to my conversation with Maureen Dalnes on last Thursday, I called Michael Klemm. I
was unable to speak to Mr. Klemm directly; so I left a message informing him that the proposed
language v<~as flawed and unacceptable. I also noted that the Board, in its haste to act without
consulting any of the opposing counsel invo ve ,was situp y as Ong or a fight.
