I knew at that time that the siding issue would be part of what I was buying and was able to negotiate that as part of the purchase price. Since that time, the estimate for the work has gone up and up and up. I can no longer afford to pay for it outright and in today's marketplace, I will not be able to finance a second, although the equity is there. I am therefore asking that we be able to go forward with this project even though the financing terms have changed from what we had agreed to a few months ago. I have no plans to move any time soon, this interest rate is as good as I could get on my own, and the assessment will eventually be reflected in my home's equity. For me, this is the best solution. In addition, I would love it if we could just move forward on this so the fighting can stop. The longer the fighting goes on, the more the project costs and we cannot afford it.
