E. Penaity For Late Payment: Each quarterly billing for water service not paid when due shall incur a penalry charge of ten percent of the amount past due. (1990 Code, pe�r letter dated 1-31-1997) 80I.17: �EPAIR OF LEAKS: It shall be the responsibility of the consumer or owner to rr�aintain the service pipe from the water main inta the house or building. In case af failure upon the part of any cansumer or awner to repair any leak occurring in such pipe within twenty four {24} haurs after verbal or written notice, the water will be shut oif and will not be turned on until the leak is repa.ired. When the waste af water is great, or when damage is likely to resu�t from the leak, the water rnay be turned off immediately pending repairs. Permit Required: Permits shall be required for the installation of all new air conditioning systems to ihe public water system. Said permit shall be on fonns as provic�ed by the City. B. Water Conserving and Regulating Devices: All air conditioning systetns which are coru�ected directiy or indirectiy with the public water system must be equipped with water conserving and water regulating devices as approved by the Pubiic Worlcs Director. (Ord. 388, 4-22-1963) 80L20: LIABILITY �dR DEFIC�IENCY O�t S�UTOFFS: The City shatl not be liable for any deficiency or failure in the supply of water to cansumers, whether occasioned by shutting the water off for the purpose of making repairs ar connections or from any other cause whatever. In cas� of fire, or alarm of �re, or in rnaking repairs ar construction oFnew works, water may be shut aff at any time and kept shut oiias long as necessary. (�rd: 388, 4-22-1963) 801.21: WILLFUL DAMAGE TO SYST�M: Na person shali remove or damage any structure; appurtenance or property of the water system, fill or partially fill any excavation or raise or open any gate consiructed or maintained for the water system. (�rd. 388, 4-22-1963) 801.22: DISCONTINUANCE �'OR VI4LATION5. Water service may be shut off at any stop box connection whenever: A. Violation: The awner or occupant of the premises serviced ar any person working on any pipes or equipment which are eonnected with the waCer system, has violated or threatens to violate any of the provisions of this Chapter. B. Nonpayment of Chatges: Any charge for water, service; meter or any other iinancial obligation imposed on the present or former owner or occ�pant of the pre�nises served is unpaid.
