Containers shall be of a durable <br />23 material; includin�, but not limited to, sturdy woven wire fencin�, rot-resistant wood, or a <br />24 commerciall�purchased compostin� unit which will provide for adequate aeration. Containers <br />25 shall be constructed and maintained in a structurallv sound manner. <br />26 <br />27 409.04: LOCATION ON PROPERTY: <br />28 Com�ost container(s) shall be located in the rear yard no closer than one foot to any rear or side <br />29 property line and no closer than twenty (20) feet to any habitable buildin�, other than the <br />30 resident's own home. <br />31 <br />32 <br />33 <br />34 <br />35 <br />36 <br />37 <br />38 <br />409.05: COMPOST MATERIALS: <br />Material such as �rass cli�in�s, leaves, soft-bodied plant materials, straw, sawdust, fruit or <br />ve�etable scraps, flowers, lake plants, coffee �rounds, eg�shells, and commercially available <br />compost in�redients ma,��placed in compost container(s). Material such as meat, bones, fat, <br />oils, �rease, dair�products, brush �reater than one-fourth inch in diameter, feces, plastics or <br />svnthetic fibers shall not be placed in compost container(s). <br />39 409.06: MAINTENANCE: <br />40 Compost materials shall be aerated, moistened, turned and mana e�promote effective <br />41 decomposition of the materials in a safe, secure and sanitary manner. <br />42 <br />43 409.07: ABATEMENT: <br />44 All com�ost containers and/or com�ost materials not in com�liance with this section shall be <br />45 declared a nuisance and are subject to abatement as provided in Chapter 407 of this Code. <br />46 <br />47 SECTION 2: Effective date. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication. <br />48 <br />49 Passed by the City Council of the City of Roseville this day of 2009. <br />
