Department Approval <br />� �� <br />Item Description <br />BACKGROUND <br />l�'�, <br />Jy <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />2009 National Night Out Proclamation <br />Date: 7/13/2009 <br />Item No.: 5.a <br />City Manager Approval <br />� / <br />National Night Out, sponsored by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF TOWN WATCH, is a <br />neighborhood crime and drug prevention event that occurs annually on the first Tuesday in <br />August and is celebrated in every city, town and village in the US. In addition to increasing <br />awareness of crime and drug prevention programs, NNO strengthens neighborhood spirit and <br />community-police partnerships, while sending a message to criminals that neighborhoods are <br />organized and fighting back against crime. <br />BUDGET IMPLICATIONS <br />Proclaiming August 4, 2009 as National Night Out in Roseville will have no financial impact on <br />the city. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended the Council authorize the Mayor and City Manager to sign the Proclamation <br />designating August 4, 2009 as National Night Out in Roseville. <br />REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />Motion authorizing the Mayor and City Manager to sign the 2009 National Night Out <br />Proclamation. <br />Prepared by: <br />Attachments <br />Sarah Mahmud, Community Relations Coordinator, Roseville Police Department <br />A: 2009 National Night Out Proclamation <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
