City of Roseville <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />SECTION 404.02 <br />OPEN BURNING <br />THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE ORDAINS: <br />Date: 8/20/p7 <br />�tenn: S.k <br />Open Burning <br />Ordinance <br />SECTION 1: Title Four, Section 404.02 of the Roseville City Code is amended to read as <br />follows: <br />404. 02: OPEN BURNING <br />I� <br />� <br />Prohibited: Except as provided in subsection B, all open burning is prohibited in <br />the City. <br />Exceptions: Recreational campfires, fires for the purpose of bona fide Fire <br />Department training, as approved by the Fire Chief, and open burning of trees <br />resulting from extensive storm damage, at a central collection site, when <br />approved by the �'R#tr �'���n�Fire Chief. The following requirements shall <br />apply to all recreational fires: <br />1. The minimum distance to a structure or property line shall be twenty-five <br />2. <br />3. <br />4 <br />5 <br />6. <br />7. <br />8. <br />feet (25'). <br />The ma�mumpermitted size shall be three feet (3') in diameter. <br />The permitted fu�ls — charcoal or one inch (1 ") minimum diameter wood, <br />no trash or garden residue. <br />The maximum duration shall be four (4) hours. <br />No combustible materials shall be placed within a three foot (3') radius of <br />fire. <br />The fire shall be constantly attended by a responsible adult. <br />A means of extinguishingthe fire shall be present (such as a garden hose <br />or a fire extinguisher). <br />Recreational fires shall be used for cooking, social or recreational <br />purposes. Disposing of trash, debris, grass, tree trimmings, or similar <br />materials sha11 not be allowed. <br />C. Permits Required: It shall be the duty of the Fire Chief and/4r Fire Marshal to <br />investigate requests for and to issue open burning permits for the purposes stated <br />in subsection B. <br />D. Institutional Recreation Burning Permits: The �'�• � �' ••• � •��•� � �• ��`� ��""� •�"' �"' '�' ° <br />Fire Chief andlor Fire Marshal may issue institutional recreation burning permits <br />for schools, social clubs and other organizations, in situations where unique <br />circumstances preclude the ability of the institution to meet the standards of the <br />Code.
