Roseville City Code Section 503.03, <br />"Transporting of Weapons", addresses the legal transportation of bows and arrows, but does not <br />address the use of them in the City. Roseville City Code 503.06, "Dangerous Weapons Prohibited", <br />outlaws the use of numerous weapons to include bows and arrows, but only when they are used <br />against a person. Bows and arrows are not addressed in any other Sections. <br />The proposed additional language to City Code, Section 505.10, Use of Bow and Arrow, specifically <br />bars the use of bows and arrows except in a small number of circumstances. <br />Police staff consulted the City Code of eight suburbs before submitting the proposed language. Golden <br />Valley and Maplewood City Codes weighed heavily in the proposed wording. <br />The city attorney has reviewed and approved the proposed language. <br />Po, Ji�w: <br />It is within the Council's authority to amend city code by enacting ordinances. <br />Financial: <br />No financial impact is expected. <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />It is recommended Council approve the additional language by enacting an ordinance addition Section <br />10, Use of Bow and Arrow, to Title Five, Chapter 503 of the Roseville City Code. <br />Council Action Requested: <br />Enact an Ordinance adding Section 10 to Tile Five, Chapter 503 of the Rosevilie City Code. <br />
