City Council Regular Meeting — O1/08/07 DRAFT Minutes - Page 21 was provided by staff and City Attorney Anderson. Mr. Hecltert opined that the map provided by staff did not include lots that were in excess of 20,000 square feet; and that under certain conditions, could be subdivide with a minimally compliant lot, but inj ected into neighborhoods with much larger lots, and still meet existing code (i.e., Woodlyn Park); and encouraged the City Council to address that and similar conditions as well. Ms. Chris Simonson, 3061 Rice Street Ms. Simonson spoke in support of the proposed moratorium, opining that the same issues and concerns regarding subdivisions have been before the City Council for years, and nothing has been done to change current code; further opining that a moratorium was needed to keep the City Council focused to find resolution and address changing land use issues over the City's development over the last fifty (50) years. Ms. Simonson recognized the scope of study as previously identified by staff in their reports; and encouraged the City Council to talee action and adopt the moratorium tonight to avoid further delay. A brief clarification was discussed with the City Attorney on the Public Hearing process for land use cases. Vivian Ramalingam, 2182 Acorn Road Ms. Ramalingam thanked Councilmember Kough for his comments and the need to address environmental and tree concerns; and expressed concern with how best to make their opinion available to the City Council. Mayor Klausing noted that written cpmment can be directed to City Hall for specific distribution to any andlor all Councilmembers; as well as e-mail contact, as noted on the City's website, with Councilmembers. Mayor Klausing advised that the City was in the process of redesigning the websi�e to ma��e it more accessible and user- friendly.
