The task force is called the East Metro Narcotics Task Force. A Joint Powers Agreement between all participating agencies is required in order to comply with the requirements for calendar year 2007 funding by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety (Office of Justice Programs), and to define the rights and obligations of the Parties with respect to the duties and activities performed by the Task Force throughout the term of the Agreement (calendar year 2007). PROPOSED ACTION Members of the East Metro Task Force through the formation of the task force, can more efficiently enforce controlled substance laws, and the investigation and then prosecution of the related erimes,-�- especially felonies. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS Not applicable. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Allow the police departmentto acc�pt �nci abide by the terms af the Agre�meit. COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED Allow the police department to aec�pt the terms of the Agreement.
