Transit:for Livable Communities <br />Non-Motorized Transportation Pilot Program <br />February 2007 Request for Applications <br />�elcor�rte! <br />The six-yearfederal transportationbill (SAFETEA-LU) enacted in the summer of 2005 <br />authorized a Non-Motorized Transportation Pilot Program (NTP) in four communities — one of <br />which is in Minnesota. Transit for Livable Communities (TLC) was selected by Congress fio <br />administerthe NTP in Minneapolis and its adjoining communities. Approximately $21.5 million <br />has been authorized for the period 2006 through 2009 to evaluate how infrastructure <br />improvements, combined with planning, public education, and promotion, can increase the <br />number of people walking and bicycling and reduce driving. <br />����E��#i��r Instructions and Application Submittal Documents <br />This document contains the program overview, application instructions, and selection criteria. <br />The application form and required btadget form must be downloaded from the TLC web site at <br />www.ticminnesota.org.
