It
has spurred significant gains in the nation's AFV
population and associated fueling infrastructure. In
2004, Clean Cities passed the milestone of displacing
the equivalent of more than billion galians of
gasoline. Clean Cities tracks the activities and
accomplishments of its coaiitions, translating this
to rrai-e+r_= displacement. This tracking represents
only a small percentage of tke actual impact of
Clean Cities. The program lays the groundwork for
1oca1 and regional partnerships to increase the use of
alternative and advanced vehicles and fuels, which
ripples out from the coalitions.
-'--' L I ~ ~' 4 y-•;r i :._ :-w•t!r[+ t „ -"--'-
AF#-Centra Arka ns as
Tomrry Foitz
501•537-2273
A7-Valley of the Sun (Phoenix)
Bill Sheaffer
480-314-0360
www.cleanairaz.org
RZ-Tucson
Cafleen Grvwn3nshield
520-792-1093,x42fi
vuww,pagne#.org/CieanCitiesl
CA-Centrxl Coast
Aeron Ariin Genet
805-781-5912
www.cd.org
CA-Coachella Valley
Scott Fischler
760-318-1982
CA-East Bay (Oakland)
Chris Ferrara
925-674-6533
CA-Lancaster
Bret Banks
661-723-8070
CA-Long Beach
I.BSIi2 Horikawa-Thiede
562-570-5405
CA-Los Angeles
Heloise Froeiich
213-978-0854
www.cityofEa.orglEAil/Ap1Neb-
ApDlI.RCIeanCity.htm
July 2006
CA-Northwest
(Riverside County)
Barbara Sp oonhour
5a-xrBu;S
CA-Sacramento
Jill Egbert
530-757-5235
www.cCeancitiessacramento,org!
C,A-San [liego
Greg Newhouse
619-388-7673
.5 n71.r.:fr
CA-San Francisco
Fa¢ Khan
415-355-3734
CA-San 3paqain Valley
Linda Urata
661-835-8665
www.valleyciea ncities.org/
CA-Silicon Valley (San Jose)
Kim B€rrmahfn
408-975-2587
www.suciea ncities.org
CA-Southern California Assn.
oP Governments
JoAnn Armenia
909-396-5757
CO-Colorado Springs
Teri lilr€ch
719-475-0155
Through pcat and national events, special emphasis
is focused on educating fleet managers and corporate
executives about Clean Cities technologies. For
example, in October 2005, coalitions across the
country hosted simultaneous events celebrating the
displacement of the equivalent of more than 1 billion
gallons of petroleum. Media broadcast the events
throughout the nation. The events showcased local
projects involvfng idle reduction, alternative fuels,
and hybrids. In addition, Ciean Cities has created
many funding opportunities through a variety of
financial support programs, making available millions
of dollars and leve►'agzng millions more, in categories
sch as fuel infrastructure, AFV incremental cost btry-
downs, and idle reduction education.
CO-Denuer
Stacey 5imms
303-847-0271
www.alacolo.arg/ciEancies.cfm
CO-Northern Colorado
Robin Newbrey Riesberg
970-689-4845
wvw.fcgov.com/airquality/cfeatt-
eities.php
CT-Capitol Clean C[ties
Craig Peters
800-855-2631
CT-5nuthwestem Area
(larwalk}
Ed Baman
203-256-3010
CT Neuv Haven
Lee Grannis
203-627-3715
Ci"-inich
Peter Polubiatko
860-887-6964
E-UUas[ngton
GeorgeL.
