The combined bids received are higher than the <br />budgeted estimates. Staff has compared other recent bid processes and feels the bids received are <br />the current market rates for the items bid. Increases are due to increased energy costs for <br />production of the materials and transportationcosts. In most years savings in other general fund <br />areas help to offset higher than expected costs for some line items. <br />Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends to award to the low bidder in each of the categories <br />listed above, pending additional funding source for seal coat and pavement maintenance <br />programs. <br />
