The program would be administered by the State. There would be no fiscal obligations on <br />the City of Roseville. <br />An improved system of e-waste collection would most likely save the City money. We would be less <br />likely to have illegal dumping at City facilities. And the disposal cost for electronic items collected at <br />the Clean Up Day would likely decrease. Currently the City pays one-third of the disposal costs of <br />electronic items collected at the Clean Up Day. In 2006 more than 4,2001bs of electronic items were <br />collected, costing the City appro�mately $1,500 for their disposal. <br />Council Action Rec�uested <br />Approve the attached resolution supporting a Legislative solution to dealing with e-waste that includes <br />provisionsto require manufacturer responsibility, reliable and convenient collectionoptions, <br />responsible recycling of C�.'�'s, a mechanism to address the backlog of CRTs, and a fiu�ding method <br />that does not require substantial end-of-lifefees. <br />
