You asked us to provide an opinion regarding whether the City i-�ay donate unclaimed bicycles to the Roseville Area High School Program. In short, the City �nay donate the bicycles but donation of unclaimed properry must be authorized by ordinance. Facts Recovered or abandoned bicycles come into the custody of the Police Department on a regular basis. The Police Department rarely finds the owner of the bicycle. The bicycles are either sold at auction or, if they hold no apparent value, the bicycles are discarded. Rather than selling or discarding the bicycles, the Police Department would like to donate �he�1� to a Roseville Area High School Program.
