Those alternatives, as
]  presented, were:

]
] a
I
A) Making "technical" updates which reflect the requirements set forth in the System
Statement, or;
B) Creating a new Comprehensive Plan which reflects the current vision of the
community and meets the requirements set forth in the Systen Statement, or;
1a C) Assessing each of our plan's eleven sections and eleven appendices to determine
I ; which of these is still relevant and which have become obsolete and to undertake
I technical updates of those relevant sections and recreate the obsolete sections in a
J manner consistent with the System Statement.
.. Staff s recommendationwas to pursue alternative C. While there was no Council action
 1 made (nor sought) at that study session, the Council seemed supportive of further
 evaluation of a substantive revision to obsolete sections of the plan, removal of
 unnecessary sections of the plan and technical updates to relevant andlor valid sections of
? the plan.
 5 As part of that ongoing evaluation, staff has attempted to identify all of the components
 of the existing ComprehensivePlan and evaluate which of those sections, in our opinions,
? need significant revisions and the manner in which the revisions should be conducted.
 Staff s evaluation of the components of the Plan are attached.
 Staff has also drafted a"recuesi for Qualifications" (RF as an initial step in identifying
3 i the most appropriate eonsultant(s} to assist in the Comprehensive Plan update (attached).
: 1 Unless directed otherwise, the approval for conducting the RFC would he sought at the
' Apri123 regular City Council meeting.
Council Comp Plan Memo 031907 of
