Since 1986, CCHT has built and renovated nearly 1,300 housing units. CCHT <br />strives to provide high-quality, people-orienteddesign to help stabilize lives and transform <br />communities. CCHT made a presentation on March 20,2006 to introducethe City Council to <br />the renovation proj ect at the HarMar Apartments. <br />�_� The Har Mar Apartments are in need of major renovation and repair. The 40-year old <br />complex experienced deferred maintenanceover the years. This property serves a great need <br />for affordable apartment living in the community. <br />'?_3 CCHT purchased the 120-unit Har Mar Apartments and is preparing plans to renovate the <br />existing units and build new housing that would result in a total of approximately 150 <br />mixed-income rental housing units. This will include workforce apartments that are <br />affordable to household earning modest wages as well as those households earning higher <br />wages. CCHT will strive to keep the units affordable which is a key component of their <br />corporate mission. However, to achieve this, public assistance will he needed and funds <br />from MHFA, Metropolitan Council and other public agencies are critical. <br />_�.�} <br />�,! <br />Suggested Council Action <br />By resolution, support CCHT',� application to Minnesota Housing Finance Agency for <br />funding of renovations and redevelopment of Har Mar Apartments. <br />CCHT Funding Application Support - Page 1 of 1 <br />
