The term on this vacancy expires March 31,2008. <br />The City received one application from Marie C)fke�ie. <br />According to City Resolution if fewer applications are received than twice the number of <br />openings, the City Council may establish a new application deadline. If a new deadline is <br />adopted, the vacancy would be re-advertised. <br />Historically the Human Right Commission rarely gets more than twice as many applications as <br />openings. City staff posted the vacancy and advertised in the Roseville Review and the Sun <br />Focus. Staff notified citizens who have previously expressed interest in serving on Commissions <br />or task forces. Councilmembers and current Human Rights Commissioners were encouraged to <br />seek applicants. <br />Council Action Requested: <br />1 <br />2. <br />Schedule an interview for the one applicant for 5:15 p.m. on May 14,2007. If the <br />applicant meets the Council's approval appoint her to a term which expires March 31, <br />2008; or <br />Direct staff to reopen application process with a deadline of May 29. Then schedule a <br />special meeting on June 4 to interview applicant(s} and appoint a person in time for the <br />June 13,2007, Human Rights Commission meeting. <br />
