The term on this vacancy expires March 31,2008. The City received one application from Marie C)fke�ie. According to City Resolution if fewer applications are received than twice the number of openings, the City Council may establish a new application deadline. If a new deadline is adopted, the vacancy would be re-advertised. Historically the Human Right Commission rarely gets more than twice as many applications as openings. City staff posted the vacancy and advertised in the Roseville Review and the Sun Focus. Staff notified citizens who have previously expressed interest in serving on Commissions or task forces. Councilmembers and current Human Rights Commissioners were encouraged to seek applicants. Council Action Requested: 1 2. Schedule an interview for the one applicant for 5:15 p.m. on May 14,2007. If the applicant meets the Council's approval appoint her to a term which expires March 31, 2008; or Direct staff to reopen application process with a deadline of May 29. Then schedule a special meeting on June 4 to interview applicant(s} and appoint a person in time for the June 13,2007, Human Rights Commission meeting.
