Mr. Lee further opined that the sli jump was
an eyesore on the lake; and from a fishing standpoint, covering up the
rock pile was detrimental to accessing fish surrounding the rock pile.
Mr. Lee provided several examples when he'd felt threatened by wa-
ter skiers coming inside the jump and land, creating a dangerous situa-
tion, in addition to those sliing the sli course and creating wakes and
endangering other users. Mr. Lee opined that the sli jump was inap-
propriate in a public, mixed use lake.
Mayor Klausing sought counsel from City Attorney Anderson regard-
ing whether the ski jump and course were non-conforming uses, as
suggested by an e-mail received from a resident.
City Attorney Anderson responded that the City Code had no regula-
1 tions regarding use on a public body of water; and noted that Ramsey
:3 County may have regulations.

r

Mayor Klausing addressed another e-mail concern regarding use of
herbicides in the lake, and potential to lill off marine plant life.
Mayor Klausing asked staff to report back to the City Council regard-
ing who the regulating authority would be and what, if any authority
the City would have in that matter.
