Apri123,2007 meetin; t discuss placement ofwater ski course on Lake
pwassa a - . : T.
To Whom It May Concern:
My family and I have lived on Lake Owasso since 1989, and each year the water skiers
want to place their ski course in the small end of the lake, which is where we reside.
The small end ofthe lake is too narrow for the skiers, who must know they need to share
the lake with the rest of us, including pontoons, canoes, and fishermen. None of thee
groups have special privileges, thus it is our opinion that the skiers should not have
special privileges that interfere with the aesthetics and enjoyment that we try to pursue
Our suggestion is for the skiers to put the course on the north side o£tet lake, which is in
front of the majority oftheir homes, and not even in Rqseville. The noise from those
huge motors is outrageous and disturbingfor those of us who prefer to sleep past 7:DOam,
any day of the week. Aren't there any rules about noise pollution or times of use for
water skiers?
Please consider the people who lie on the lake to enjoy nature and the beauty ofthe
environment, and don't allow the water ski course in front of our properties, which has
limited access.
Regarding the water ski jump on Lake Owassa, it has always been in the large part of the
lake, and although it is in povr shape and rarely used, it seems to have found its place in
that same location for the past 18 years that we can recall. It would have no place
elsewhere, especially in the narrow end ofthe lake.
4r'.i S
