Mayor Klausing recagn�zed <br />Counci�membe� Pust's resignation �rom the Planning <br />Commission. <br />Cauncilm�mbear Pust opined 'zt was advan�ageous to starzke a <br />balanee between the exper�i�e of �hose a�ready serving, while <br />pursuing a proeess that encouarages additional citizen <br />partieipation; and no� was�ing the time of ihe Commission and/or <br />Counc�l. <br />Further discussion included the recammendatians o� respective <br />chaizp�rsons and the�r observa�zans o� eommzssianers on a more <br />individual basis at mee�ings; and eo�ual opportunity inc�ntives. <br />1V��.yor Klausing expressed concern tha�, while eneouraging new <br />pa�iczpation ��om ciiizens, ihe process may devalue the cuz-�ent <br />cornmissioner experience and expertise. Mayor Klausing opined <br />that the�e �ppeared io be his�oricai suppar� �or adequate turnover <br />in getting n�w people involved �n the pxocess. <br />Councilmember Kough encouraged that everyo�e be given an <br />equa� opportuni�y. <br />City At�orney Anderson, from a�egal siandpoint, advised <br />Counci�membe�s that City N�anager Beets was p�oposing and <br />adhering to the City Counc�l's cuz-�ent policy as out�ined in <br />Resolution No. 10266 and passed in December of 2004. Mr. <br />
