This incddent made me realize how o6sessed with seturity we re�fly <br />are in the United States. Even af Disney World f rould feef fhe sense o�' prejudice and <br />misi-rust. At i�he eni�rance ta every theme park you have �o starrd irr a line t'v gei' your <br />fiags or carried items rhecked hy palice, just filce at the airport. Since 9/11 we are <br />actually afrard of be�ng hlawrr up orr a plane or being killed hy a terrarist. Even our <br />government was so obsessive that they srarted a"War on Terror". Yet, as a societyf we <br />do not ask oursefves why people in other parrts of the world hate us so much that they <br />are willing ta give iheir lives to kil! Americans. <br />This war on terror lead to a►var in lraq, which had vrrtuafly rrothirrg in common <br />with the terrorist group who struck America on 9/l l. Did we frnd Weapons af Mass <br />Destructian? No� So we changed it to a wur far "freednm". But consequenrly, over <br />IOO,D00 peopfe, by some reporis, have died in lraq. Muny were inrrvicent bys�arrders <br />caught in a cross�re of political power struggfes. Maybe we should change the name fo <br />the "War of Eterna/ freedom"!
