Council Discussion of Proposal fo�r a Parking Study Task <br />Force <br />Councilmember Ihlan referenced her memorandum dated <br />February 7, 2006 and entitled, "Proposal far a Parking Study <br />Task Force," and no�ed Cauncilmember Kough's endorsem�nt of <br />the proposed Task Force with further additions incorporated. <br />Klausing moved, Maschka seconded, that the City Council refer <br />the matter to staff, directing them to come back to the City <br />Council with a report on parking within the community (i.e., <br />whether co�nplaints are increasing; if there were common <br />elements of to fielded complaints; and specific complaints <br />regarding student housing); and �urther directed staff to pxovide <br />recommendation to the City Councii regarding parking <br />(enforc�ment andlor code issues) and any other issues as <br />iden�ified in Councilmember Ihlan's memoarandum of February <br />7, 2006. <br />Mayor K�ausing opined that Councilmember �hlan's outlined <br />po�nts wer� good, but the proce�s for a soluiion was <br />inappropriate withou� first seeking additional information and <br />input from staff, specifical�y Public Works and Code <br />Enforcement personneL Mayar Klausing iurther opined that, at <br />that time, the Council would be better-inform�d as to the need <br />for a Task Force, or whether appropriate for the Public Works, <br />Environment and Transportation (PWET) Cammissian for <br />further study and z-ecatnmendat�ons. <br />Councilmember Kough expressed his concern in the increasing <br />Discussion of a <br />Pr4posal for a <br />Parking Study <br />Task Force <br />
